WHY CLIMATE CHANGE IS AN IRRELEVANCE, ECONOMIC GROWTH IS A MYTH AND SUSTAINABILITY IS FORTY YEARS TOO LATE -Nov 2019

Climate change is not the biggest threat to the world’s environment – we are. The world’s rivers and seas aren’t choked with floating piles of rubbish, toxic chemicals and plastic waste because of climate change. They’re that way because we have 7.7 billion people crammed onto a planet that’s dying under the pressure of our greedy, selfish abuse.

WHAT’S REALLY WARMING THE WORLD? - June 24, 2015

Skeptics of manmade climate change offer various natural causes to explain why the Earth has warmed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880. But can these account for the planet’s rising temperature? Scroll down to see how much different factors, both natural and industrial, contribute to global warming, based on findings from NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

NASA ADMITS THAT CLIMATE CHANGE OCCURS BECAUSE OF CHANGES IN EARTH’S SOLAR ORBIT, AND NOT BECAUSE OF SUVS AND FOSSIL FUELS -  Aug 2019

It was the year 1958, to be precise, when NASA first observed that changes in the solar orbit of the earth, along with alterations to the earth’s axial tilt, are both responsible for what climate scientists today have dubbed as “warming” (or “cooling,” depending on their agenda).

MEET THE MONEY BEHIND THE CLIMATE DENIAL MOVEMENT -

Nearly a billion dollars a year is flowing into the organized climate change counter-movement. There is a very well-funded, well-orchestrated climate change-denial movement, one funded by powerful people with very deep pockets. In a new and incredibly thorough study, Drexel University sociologist Robert Brulle took a deep dive into the financial structure of the climate deniers, to see who is holding the purse strings.

AUSTRALIAN PLANS TO IMPORT GAS ARE EXPENSIVE, BAD FOR THE CLIMATE AND UTTERLY ABSURD – Oct 2019

Households are struggling with soaring gas bills and the future of our manufacturing sector is at risk

Right now, two projects have been proposed to import gas from overseas to supply eastern Australia. This is an absurd prospect. Australia is a resource-rich country, and exports more gas than any other nation. Why then, would we need to ship it in?

CHINA IS REVEALED AS THE BIGGEST FOREIGN OWNER OF AUSTRALIAN WATER- December 6, 2019

Australia’s water market should be more closely monitored after it emerged China is the largest foreign stakeholder, experts say.

The Federal Government in March revealed that 10.4 per cent of Australian water rights are owned by foreign individuals or companies.

HOW DOES THE WATER MARKET WORK?

Government appointed bodies decide how much water from rivers can be given out each year.

Once it is allocated, users can trade their water.

There are two main types of water trade: temporary and permanent.

WATER TRADING BANKERS DESTROY AGRICULTURE -

Water speculators withhold water from the market to ensure price spikes. “Carryover” rules allow speculators to hold water allocations purchased in one season into successive seasons. Many water traders do not own farms and do not produce any agricultural product. This travesty has been aided by the government policy of ‘unbundling’, where over the last 15 years, water entitlements have been separated from land ownership. The Basin Plan water-trading rules made matters worse. Prior to 1 July 2014, only entitlement owners could buy and sell allocation water; trade was mostly between irrigators. But now, anyone can buy and sell water allocations, without having to own a water entitlement, or land, or ever use water for agricultural production

WHY THE BABY FORMULA BOOM IS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT – Dec 2019

A 2015 study showed that greenhouse gas emissions from milk formula in six Asia Pacific countries were equivalent to nine billion kilometres of car travel, with China making the biggest impact.

More than 4000 litres of water is used to make a tin of milk powder.

“Australia is in effect exporting water, which is not sustainable especially with an ongoing water crisis,” Dr Smith said.

Baby formula has become big businesses for Australian dairy companies, with Tasmanian-based organic baby formula maker Bellamy’s recently sold for $1.5 billion to Chinese dairy company Mengniu.
