Immigration Minister David Colman said 6000 visas were approved under the program in the first three months of this financial year, compared with under 3000 in the final quarter of 2018/19

1VOTER COMMENT- Increase population in rural towns with insufficient infrastructure, services, housing, jobs, water; where fires abound! – this is a blueprint for chaos and disaster and is simply shuffling the ‘deck chairs on the Titanic’.

1VOTER COMMENT- Isn’t polygamy illegal in Australia or have we changed our law for a minority of immigrants but not for Aussies? It’s this type of discrimination that creates a ‘them and us’ division in the population and is patently unfair to law abiding citizens.Question- Why are we doing this? How does this beneifit Australia?

TEMPORARY VISA NUMBERS BALLOON TO RECORD HIGH- December 2019

Earlier this year, the Morrison Government announced that is would cut Australia’s non-humanitarian permanent migrant intake by 30,000 to 160,000 in order to “restrain population growth pressures in Sydney and Melbourne in particular”.

However, while the non-humanitarian permanent migrant intake has been cut, net overseas migration (NOM) and net long-term arrivals continue to balloon, running near all-time highs:

The rest of the increase in temporary visas has been driven mostly by visitors and bridging visas, whose numbers increased by 146,000 and 117,000 respectively since 2012:

TEMPORARY MIGRANT VISAS ISSUED FOR 2.2 MILLION -  Nov 2019

Labor has called for an urgent examination of the temporary visa regime following new ­analysis that reveals the number of ­migrants on the visas has jumped from 1.8 million to 2.2 million in the past four years.

According to a report from the Australian Population Research Institute, almost a fifth of the ­nation’s cleaners, store packers, and food and hospitality workers are on temporary migrant visas.

TAMWORTH REGIONAL COUNCIL PLAN FOR 100,000 PEOPLE TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE – Dec 2019

THE council's outgoing chief planner says the push to accelerate the population towards 100,000 people will lift the region's quality of life.

"There's no doubt if the drought continues into next year, when we go out to consultation, we will get a lot of submissions around water," he said.

"No one is fooling themselves to think it is going to be easy if the drought continues."
